Project Lingap is dedicated to working with indigenous communities to create programs that will benefit and uplift the lives of the community members. Among the nonprofit organization’s initiatives is conducting outreach trips to its partner communities. One of those communities is the Aeta of Sitio Lumibao in Barangay Buhawen, San Marcelino, Zambales.
The Aeta of Sitio Lumibao is one of the group’s oldest partners and is the beneficiary of the Rice Saves Lives program. Every summer, Project Lingap volunteers visit the community to distribute rice packs to the Aeta families. The summer is a critical time for the community as they barely have enough to eat and have no suitable land to cultivate.
Thanks to the undying spirit of Project Lingap volunteers and generous donors, the Rice Saves Lives program continues to bring hope and nourishment to the Aeta of Sitio Lumibao.
Aside from the rice distribution, Project Lingap volunteers also conducted a children’s program, feeding program, and consultation with the community leaders and members.
